Community Energy Systems LLC (CES) is a biomass energy project developer specializing in biomass energy projects in the Western US. CES’s mission is to develop ecologically sustainable, community-based biomass solutions that build energy self-reliance for communities, tribes, and businesses. CES employs a partnering strategy that grows the existing capacity of project partners to maximize the potential for financial returns, asset ownership, and ecological benefit for project participants, stakeholders and their surrounding environment.

The primary focus of CES’s mission is to work with rural and tribal communities to develop community-based biomass solutions that support sustainable forestry and sustainable community development.

 

TECHNOLOGIES

Renewable energy development depends on effective technology selection. CES specializes in identification of technology options that are resource efficient, cost effective, and are adaptively scaled to the ecological, financial, and social resources of particular places.

Updates on CES Activities

August 2009 - Monte Vista, CO. CES completes preliminary design for biomass district heating system for the Homelake Veterans Administration facility.

June 2009 - Jemez, NM. CES completes biomass heating project design for Jemez Pueblo with anticipated project implementation in 2009.

February 2009 - Klamath Falls, OR. CES completes pre-feasibility analysis of waste-to-energy opportunities for Klamath County.

June 2008 - Walden, CO. CES signs memorandum of understanding with Mountain Parks Electric Inc., for exclusive development of small scale (< 3MWe) biomass projects in the MPEI service district.

March 2007 - Community Energy Systems selected to conduct Elk City, ID biomass assessment –– more info

May 2007 - CES signs contract with Mountain Parks Electric Inc, to manage biomass CHP project assessment and design in Walden, Colorado –– more info

June 2007 - CES selected to conduct Phase II Biomass facility design for Jemez Pueblo –– more info

September 2007 - CES is retained by Cochetopa Land and Cattle to act as its energy development partner in designing and implementing an integrated energy park that will integrate a biomass facility with a small biodiesel refinery, an organic alfalfa operation, an organic compost bagging operation, and a potential greenhouse development in south-central Colorado’s San Luis Valley.
