Community Energy Systems selected to conduct Elk City, ID biomass assessment
A local community-based organization in Elk City, ID--Framing Our Communities (FOC)—received funding from a variety of public sources to conduct a biomass energy development feasibility assessment for the Elk City, Idaho area. CES was selected to conduct the assessment following an extensive RFP solicitation process. CES will evaluate both biomass thermal and combined heat & power options for sites in the Elk City area. A final report is due in winter 2007-2008.

CES signs contract with Mountain Parks Electric Inc, to manage biomass CHP project assessment and design in Walden, Colorado.
CES has worked with Mountain Parks Electric Inc, one of 22 Colorado Rural Electric Association members to identify and develop biomass projects in the Jackson and Grand County areas. During this period, CES assisted Mountain Parks in pursuing and ultimately securing a Woody Biomass Development Grant from the US Forest Service. With the funds provided by this grant, Mountain Parks Electric Inc has contracted with CES to conduct a technology assessment, selection and preliminary design process for co-location of a Combined Heat & Power (CHP) project at a sawmill in Walden, Colorado.

CES selected to conduct Phase II Biomass facility design for Jemez Pueblo
CES worked with Jemez Pueblo in 2006 to conduct a biomass feasibility assessment on both Pueblo and surrounding federal lands located approx 50 miles NW of Albuquerque, NM. Based on this assessment, several potentially viable biomass thermal projects were identified. One of these project opportunities has been selected for project design and equipment specification. CES will manage all aspects of the project that will result in a finance ready package for this facility.
